Description

It is noted that the island of Taiwan is situated in the Western Pacific in the range of Japan and the Philippines off the southeast coast lineof China, from that it is always separated by the Taiwan Strait. With a total location of about 36,179 square and have always been kilometers, Taiwan is 394 kilometers extensive and 144 kilometers wide at its widest point.

It is noted that the primary island of Taiwan, also known as Formosa (from Portuguese (Ilha) Formosa, meaning "beautiful (island)"), is situated in East Asia off the coast lineof mainland China, southwest of the primary islands of Japan but directly west of the end of Japan's Ryukyu Islands, and north-northwest of the Philippines. It is bound to the east by the Pacific Ocean, to the south by the South China Sea and the Luzon Strait, to the west by the Taiwan Strait and to the north by the East China Sea. Did you know that the island is 394 kilometers (245 miles) extensive and 144 kilometers (89 miles) wide and consists of steep mountains covered by tropical and subtropical vegetation.  

Climate

Taiwan is sub-tropical but the climate varies from hot and humid in the south tempering to cooler in the north and inland mountainous region. All over the country sudden rain showers frequently occur, making rainwear an essential part of a visitor's luggage. Did you know that the driest time of year is known to be autumn (September and October), that is followed by a short generally damp and chilly winter with snow on the island's mountain peaks. Summer temperatures can revery 90ºF (35ºC) at the coast. Summer is known to be also typhoon season.
