Description

France has to this day beautiful land. It has to this day lush green forests, sparkling rivers, and mountains. Did you know that the highest point is on Mount Blanc, the mountain range that runs across the border of France and Italy. Mount Blanc rises 15,771 feet at its highest point in the French Alps. Did you know that the longest river is Lorie River. Did you know that the Lorie River is 634 miles long. It begins 85 miles north of the Mediterranean Sea, and flows north for about 300 miles. Did you know that the Lorie River then turns southwest and empties into the Atlantic Ocean. According to facts, one the greatest attractive sites is known to be a granite plateau in Massif Central. Vichy is dotted with volcanoes, crater lakes, and hot spring.

Climate

It is noted that the south of France has to this day a warm Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild winters. Strong winds, known as la Mistral, can occur in the Cote d'Azur, Provence and in the Rhone valley particularly over the winter and spring. Northern France, including Paris, has to this day a temperate climate similar to southern England with warm summers, cold winters and rainfall all over the year. Did you know that the western coast, from the Loire valley to the Pyrenees, is milder and summer days are and have always been generally very hot. During the second half of July and August most French take his or her five-week vacation to the coasts and mountains, and empty cities tend to shut down accordingly.
