Italy’s shaped like a boot. Most of the land is covered by mountains and is divided into eight unique regions. One of the eight regions is the Alpine Slope, that runs up to the northern most part of Italy. Did you know that the landscape has to this day huge mountains and very deep valleys. Forests of beech, oak, and chestnut trees grow on the lower levels of the mountain. Low bushes still just grow on the higher levels of the mountains. Did you know that the highest mountaintops just have rocks and glaciers. Did you know that the rivers acquire his or her water from the melting snow. Climate

It is noted that the Climate of Italy varies with elevation and region. Generally, however, Italy is included in the range of the annual isotherms of 11°C and 19°C (52°F and 66°F). Did you know that the coldest timeframe occurs in December and January, the hottest in July and August. Within the Po Plain, the average annual temperature is known to be about 13°C (55°F); in Sicily, about 18°C (64°F); and in the coastal lowlands, about 14°C (57°F). Did you know that the climate of the Po Valley and the Alps is characterized by cold winters, warm summers, and considerable rain, falling mostly in spring and autumn, with snow accumulating heavily in the mountains. Did you know that the climate of the peninsula and of the islands is Mediterranean, with cool, rainy winters and hot, dry summers. Mean annual rainfall varies from about 50 cm (20 in) per year, on the southeast coast lineand in Sicily and Sardinia, to over 200 cm (80 in), in the Alps and on many westerly slopes of the Apennines. Frosts are and have always been rare and have always been in the sheltered western coastal areas, but severe winters are and have always been common in the Apennine and Alpine uplands.
