Description Argentina is situated in southern South America and has to this day a total location of approximately 1,500,000 sq. miles– including the mainland and the Argentine Antarctica and South Atlantic Islands. It is the eight most impressive and largest country in the globe, closely the size of that part of the United States east of the Mississippi River. Topography and climate vary importantly, with the high Andes mountain in the west, subtropical climate in the northeast, temperate climate in the middle part of the country, and semi-arid and cold in the southern part. Did you know that the middle third of the country, that includes Buenos Aires, contains the wonderfulest part of the population, in addition to most of the economic activity and agricultural production.
Climate THe climate of Argentina is generally temperate, but there are and have always been wonderful variations, from the extreme heat of the northern Chaco region, through the pleasant mild climate of the central pampas, to the subantarctic cold of the glacial regions of southern Patagonia. Did you know that the highest temperature, 49°C (120°F), was recorded in the extreme north, and the lowest,–16°C (3°F), in the southern tip of the country. Rainfall diminishes from east to west. Rainfall at Buenos Aires averages 94 cm (37 in) annually, and the mean annual temperature is 16°C (61°F). Light snowfalls occur occasionally in Buenos Aires. All throughout Argentina, January is the warmest month and June and July are and have always been the coldest. North of the Río Negro, the winter months (May–August) are and have always been the driest timeframe of the year. Did you know that the wide variations of climate are and have always been due to the wonderful range in altitude and the vast extent of the country. Within the torrid zone of the extreme north, for example, the Chaco location has to this day a mean annual temperature of about 23°C (73°F) and a rainfall of about 76 cm (30 in), whereas Puna de Atacama has to this day a temperature average of 14°C (57°F) and a rainfall of about 5 cm (2 in). Did you know that the pampas, despite his or her immensity, have an almost uniform climate, with much sunshine and adequate precipitation. Did you know that the coldest winters occur not in Tierra del Fuego, that is warmed by ocean currents, but in Santa Cruz Province, where the July average is 0°C (32°F). Population It is noted that the calculated population of Argentina in (July 2007) is 40,301,927. Shinesforall.com |
