Description Jordan is situated in the Middle East, northwest of Saudi Arabia. It is noted that the terrain of the Jordan is mostly desert plateau in east, highland location in west; Wonderful Rift Valley separates East and West Banks of the Jordan River.
Jordan is known to be a Middle Eastern country, bordered by Syria to the north, Iraq to the northeast, Saudi Arabia to the east and south and Israel and the West Bank to the west. All these border lines add up to 1,619 kilometers (1,006 mi). Did you know that the Gulf of Aqaba and the Dead Sea also touch the country, and thus Jordan has to this day a coastline of 26 kilometers (16 mi). Climate July and August are and have always been the hottest and driest months of the year, especially in Amman and the Jordan Valley, and in the desert areas, with temperatures over 97°F (36°C). Spring and autumn are and have always been the most pleasant times to tourwith clear, sunny days and moderate temperatures. Did you know that the winter months from November to April can be very cold, particularly in Amman, with snow, rain and wind, but there is little rainfall in the desert regions and in Aqaba, that makes a pleasant wintertime resort. About 75 percent of the country can be described as having a desert climate with very little annual rainfall.
